1. Rental Agreement
The vehicle rental contract is agreed upon between KS Rent a Car Sri Lanka and the renter. All terms and agreed rental rates are finalized prior to vehicle handover or commencement of chauffeur services.
2. Driver Eligibility (Self-Drive)
- Minimum Age: Renters must be at least 21 years old with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
- Driving License: Drivers must hold a valid domestic driving license. For foreign tourists driving in Sri Lanka, local law requires an International Driving Permit (IDP) or an endorsed Sri Lankan temporary driving permit.
- Identification: A valid passport or national identity card must be presented prior to vehicle handover.
3. Chauffeur-Driven Services
When booking a chauffeur-driven vehicle, our professional driver handles all driving responsibilities. Chauffeur driving hours normally follow standard daily operating shifts (typically 8 to 12 hours/day). Overnight driver accommodation and meals are either provided by hotels (common in Sri Lanka) or covered under a modest daily allowance agreed upon in your quote.
4. Security Deposit & Payments
- A refundable security deposit is typically required for self-drive rentals to cover potential fuel deficits, traffic violations, or minor interior damages.
- Deposits are refunded at the end of the rental period after vehicle inspection.
- Payment terms, accepted payment methods, and currency options are specified in your written booking confirmation.
5. Fuel Policy
Vehicles are provided with a specific fuel level (commonly full-to-full or recorded level at delivery). The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in writing.
6. Mileage & Vehicle Care
- Daily rentals usually include a generous daily kilometer allowance (e.g. 100km/day or unlimited packages for chauffeur tours), with excess kilometers billed at a pre-agreed rate per km.
- The vehicle must not be used for motor racing, towing, illegal purposes, or subleasing to third parties.
- Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited to keep our fleet fresh for all guests.
